่‚‰ๅคน้ฆ in a bag that I bought for breakfast from the south campus dining hall. My first class today was at 10:10am, but I arrived at the south campus at about 9:40am. Unfortunately, most of the dining hall restaurants are closed at that time.
Of course it didn't have that much meat inside, and after eating it I kind of felt more hungry than before. Oh well.

A restaurant in the dining hall close to my dorm that I frequent. It's next to the Mongolian restaurant I took a picture of before.

See the QR code on the table? That's how you can pay for your food. You scan the code with your phone, enter the amount you want to pay to the vendor, and then the money is taken from your WeChat wallet. And the money from your WeChat wallet usually comes from your bank card.

There is a block of stores near the north gate on the south campus. I went here this morning in the hopes of finding a print shop. Turns out there is one in this area, but it was not open before 8 in the morning.

As you can see, it looked like a ghost town (I guess I really like this comparison??), but it's a lot more lively in the afternoons. The sign on the left side of the picture that you can only see a part of is the entrance to an area with a lot of food shops. The yellow sign is for a small supermarket, and the owner is really nice (although I haven't talked to her in a while :c ).

I took these pictures about a month ago when I accompanied my roommate on her trip to get a haircut. I believe this was during our Golden Week break.

More campus pictures! This is in the canteen closest to my dorm. Specifically, I took the picture in the stairway between the first and second floors (there are 3 floors total, and I heard that the 3rd floor has the cheapest prices, which is where I was coming from and where I have been going a lot lately ๐Ÿ˜…)

The restaurant at the top of the stairs that reads ะœะžะะ“ะžะ› is where I ate the dumpling soup with my Mongolian classmate c: (If Google Translate is telling me the truth, ะœะžะะ“ะžะ› is Mongolian for 'Mongolia' - that is, Mongolian written using the modern Mongolian alphabet*).

*which I am assuming is based on Cyrillic script? I haven't done my research but they look alike...although I know Mongolian has some letters that, for example, Russian doesn't have.
People from Mongolia use the modern Mongolian alphabet. In contrast, Mongolian people born and raised in China learn and write the traditional Mongolian script (which is written from top to bottom, left to right - you can see it on a couple of items/signs in previous posts, but if you don't know what I'm talking about, I recommend checking this wiki link - personally, I find the script beautiful, especially when it's handwritten). Mongolians from Mongolia can read this style of writing, but I don't think that many of them can write it.

And, for a totally unrelated picture --

Finally another food post!

Yesterday's breakfast! Small because on Wednesdays my first class is at 10:10am (although the bus leaves for the south campus at 9:10am) and it wasn't long until lunch. This was some kind of bun (้ฅผ) with chives (I think?) and egg. It was good, but not my favorite breakfast item.

Yesterday's lunch from the student canteen on the south campus! I'm assuming it was some kind of ้ธกๆŽ’้ฅญ (chicken breast and rice) but I don't remember the exact name.

Happy Halloween! I actually took this picture a few days ago, but felt like it looked a little Halloween-esque and saved it for today. ๐Ÿ˜

Another scary thing - STILL NO SCHOLARSHIP MONEY. The account balance is my own money. (ok Mom I know it's technically your money, but you can take money from my bank account whenever I use my credit card at the ATM!!!!!)

This makes me sad because my roommate and some of my international student classmates already have theirs ๐Ÿ˜ข

At least I've got WeChat pay set up now. I get to pay for things using my phone instead of with cash :D So convenient!
